About Us
History
Spiritful Voices Community Choir held its first organizational meeting/rehearsal at Francis Tuttle Technology Center’s Rockwell Campus in Oklahoma City on April 5, 1999. Founder and music director Sam P. Vladovich presided over that meeting. From the 12 people who were present at that initial get-together, eight singers began attending weekly rehearsals which were held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church during our first season. Two years later, on May 9, 2001, the loosely formed community group evolved into a not for profit Oklahoma corporation, and in October, 2003, Spiritful Voices Community Choir, Inc., received its determination letter from the IRS, fully recognizing the corporation as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable organization.
