By joining our choir, you will sing and learn along with talented musicians in a fun, educational, and supportive environment. You'll gain invaluable experience while you expand your musical abilities. You’ll perform throughout our community at shopping malls, festivals, retirement centers, nursing homes, and at special community events and banquets.
Membership Requirements Members of Spiritful Voices must be 18 years or older, enthusiastic for the love of music, can learn the music well, can commit to rehearsals, and have a pleasant, blending voice. There are no auditions for participation in our choir.
Dues To help with the costs and expenses associated with our choir, each member contributes $75.00 per season (or $135.00 per married couple) which is used to purchase music and practice CDs, and pay rehearsal hall expenses, promotional expenses, postage, etc. We offer an "early bird" discount of 20% for those who register at least two weeks prior to the beginning of each season, which makes the participant fee $60.00 for individuals or $108.00 for married couples. If these dues present an extreme financial burden, then we may be able to help, so don't let that one thing keep you from participating in our group (we've never refused anyone membership in our choir for lack of dues).
Other Financial Matters for Participants In addition to the participant fee required each season, participants in Spiritful Voices Community Choir must also wear specific stage attire during spring and fall performances (the cost of which is the responsibility of each participant). Singers who wish to check out a music folder to take it home with them during the season are also required to sign a "Music Check-Out and Guaranty" form and attach a personal check or credit card information to be used as a deposit in case they fail to return their music folder at the end of the season. Also, as a volunteer, non-profit organization, we certainly encourage every participant to help with our occasional fundraising efforts during a season, although such participation is not a requirement. How to Join Us On-Line You can use our secure on-line donation/order form to contact us and make your contribution for your participant fee for the season with your VISA, MasterCard, or electronic check. In the comments section of our on-line donation form, be sure and provide us with your preferred voice part, if known (Soprano I or II, Alto I or II, Tenor I or II, Baritone or Bass). Of course, we'll also gladly accept your additional tax-deductible donation which you can also enter on our order screen! You will be contacted by an additional email within 24-48 hours to provide you with our next rehearsal date and location.
How to Join Us By Regular Mail If you would rather not use our secure on-line donation system, you may mail us your check (or credit card number and expiration date) for your participant contribution. Be sure and include your name, address, zip code, telephone numbers (home, work, cell), email address, and your preferred voice part, if known (Soprano I or II, Alto I or II, Tenor I or II, Baritone or Bass). PO Box 720468 Oklahoma City, OK 73172-0468 You will be contacted by email (or by phone if you don't have an email address) within 48 hours to provide you with our next rehearsal date at Francis Tuttle Technology Center, 12777 N. Rockwell Ave., in Oklahoma City. We rehearse in the "Commons Area" on the first floor of the Campus Center Building.
