Composer Ed Lojeski—-whose recent credits include most of the arrangements for the Emmy Award-winning television series, “Glee”-—has personally invited Spiritful Voices Community Choir to “A Salute to Valor,” a music festival in Honolulu, Hawaii, June 30 through July 5, 2011, commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Spiritful Voices will be scheduled to perform its own repertoire in a Festival Concert on July 3 at the Waikiki Shell Amphitheater, and will then join other choirs on July 4 for an Independence Day extravaganza under the direction of Maestro Lojeski on the deck of the historic USS Battleship Missouri. All singers (and their guests) during our upcoming Spring 2011 Season are eligible to attend. Please click here for a detailed brochure and pricing info.

Women Receive New Performance Dresses

Women Receive New Performance Dresses

Warrenton Chorale, a non-auditioned volunteer adult community chorus located in Virginia, 45 miles west of Washington, D.C., recently donated 56 dresses in various sizes to Spiritful Voices Community Choir. The women of Spiritful Voices will begin wearing the performance outfits during upcoming fall season concerts. The forest green, formal-style dresses with a shoulder cape were only used by the Virginia chorus for about three years, and are in excellent condition. Originally supplied by Southeastern Performance Apparel of Alabama, the estimated value of the donation is $3,000.

Choir performs at Carnegie Hall

Choir Performs at Carnegie Hall

Spiritful Voices capped its 10th anniversary season by singing in a concert June 6, 2009, at New York City's famed Carnegie Hall. About 40 chorus members and supporters made the trip from Oklahoma to participate in the evening performance, which featured two festival choirs of 300 voices each, formed from adult community and church choirs from throughout the world. During the past decade, Spiritful Voices has sung several works by composers Joseph Martin and Greg Gilpin, who conducted the concert.
